Newcomers Club

The Newcomers Club is an organization that welcomes new students to GBN. Students involved with the club assist, orient and familiarize new students with the academic, activity and athletic life at GBN. This club is open to all students.
Newcomers Group Meetings
An important aspect of transitioning to a new high school is having a connection with others who are facing similar challenges. Ideally, Glenbrook North High School will provide you with a great variety of opportunities that will help you grow both academically and socially – but it is important to acknowledge the obstacles that often interfere with this process.
In addition to the monthly social activities scheduled, the Newcomers Group provides bi-monthly meetings during school. This is an opportunity for everyone to discuss and reflect on how their GBN experience is going in a safe, non-judgmental group environment.
Below is a 1st semester schedule when the Newcomers will meet as a group – Passes will be forwarded to students the day before each gathering. Each student needs their teacher’s permission to attend - it is your responsibility to make-up any lessons missed during our 45-minute/1st half of the block group session.
Please contact Mr. Niemiec in Student Services with any questions.
